Pharmacological Management of Parkinson's

The goal of pharmacological treatment in Parkinson’s disease (PD) is to improve motor symptoms while minimizing adverse effects. Managing the timing of medications with meals and daily activities can be a challenge. This session will help those with Parkinson’s and their families understand the safety, effectiveness, and research behind the prescription medicines, herbal products, and supplements used to treat Parkinson’s. Suggestions for successful management of a complex medication schedule will be reviewed. In addition, since patients may also be taking non-PD medications, information on other common medications will be addressed.
